Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has named a 25-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco as Ghana steps up preparations for the continental tournament.

The squad blends experienced internationals with emerging talents drawn from clubs across Europe, Africa and North America, with the technical team expected to trim the list before the competition begins.

Leading the goalkeeping department are Cynthia K. Fiindib, Osman Huzeima and Benedicte Simon, while defenders include Josephine Bonsu, Portia Boakye, Susan Ama Duah, Abena Anoma Opoku, Grace Asantewaa, Linda Owusu and Evelyn Badu.

The midfield features Princess Marfo, Alice Kusi, Sharon Sampson, Ajegipina Zakaria, Afi Amenyeku, Comfort Yeboah, Anasthesia Achiaa and Ernestina Abambila.

Ghana’s attacking options include Alex Tay, Louisa Aniwaa, Jennifer Cudjoe, Wasiima Mohammed, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Princella Adubea, Stella Nyamekye, Doris Boaduwaa and Abigail Kim.

The provisional squad reflects the growing international presence of Ghanaian players, with representatives from clubs including TP Mazembe, PSV Eindhoven, Nottingham Forest, FC Zürich, Trabzonspor, Stanford University and FC Juárez, among others.

The Black Queens will begin camp in the coming days as they intensify preparations for the tournament, with the technical team expected to assess the players before announcing the final squad.

Ghana will be aiming to make a strong impression at WAFCON 2026 and challenge for continental honours after returning to the competition with renewed ambition under Björkegren.
