New Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has pledged to restore the club’s status as one of Africa’s football powerhouses while building a strong foundation for sustained success.
In his first message to supporters, players, management and technical staff, the South African tactician described Kotoko as one of the continent’s biggest clubs and expressed his determination to deliver trophies.
“I am a very ambitious coach. I come here with passion and the desire to achieve and win things,” Tinkler said.
The former South Africa international identified returning Kotoko to the summit of African football as his primary objective. He also stressed the importance of youth development, promising to maintain the club’s tradition of producing talented players capable of representing their national teams.
Tinkler highlighted his experience as both a player and coach, having managed several clubs in South Africa and competed in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
He revealed that he will work closely with Executive Chairman and Director of Football Stanley Menzo to rebuild the Porcupine Warriors into a dominant force on the continent, while thanking the club for the opportunity to lead a new era.
