The 2026 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Hopes Week and Challenge is underway at The Dome, University of Ghana, Legon, bringing together some of Africa’s most promising young table tennis talents for a week of intensive training and competition.
The event, which runs until Saturday, forms part of a series of major international table tennis activities being hosted by Ghana.
Young players are receiving world-class coaching from experienced ITTF instructors, with sessions focused on technical skills, tactical awareness and athlete development. Ghana is represented by 12 players—six boys and six girls—benefiting from the opportunity to compete and learn on home soil.
The Hopes Week Challenge is expected to strengthen grassroots table tennis development while showcasing Ghana’s ability to host international sporting events. It also serves as a platform to identify emerging talents who could represent Africa at future global competitions.
